Anticipated Films of 2011

So I'm currently mobile blogging while waiting for a football game to start, but I thought of questions I wanted to ask/a discussion I wanted to start and couldn't wait for myself to forget.

Of films that have released or are releasing this year, what were/are you most anticipating? Is it Ra.One, Bodyguard, Don 2, The Dirty Picture, Ready, Mausam, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Delhi Belly, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Rockstar, Desi Boyz, one of the million films I can't think of at the moment? (For me, it's Ra.One of films that are still upcoming and ZNMD of ones that have already been released. ZNMD was probably my favorite film of the summer too.)

Of any new releases you've seen this year so far, what's been your favorite?

How often do you get to go see new releases? (In New York, I went every week. Here in Florida, I'm lucky to get once a month.)

Looking forward to your responses!

  1. I'm so lucky here in Manchester UK. There are Bollywood films on all the time at the big Trafford Centre multiplex. I could see Bodyguard or MBKD this week. I still wait to rent from Lovefilm, however, unless it's really BIG. I saw both OSO and Taare Zameen Par at the theatre. In fact, I saw them both twice!

  2. It was relatively easy for me to see films when I was in New York. I could mostly just walk across the street from where I lived to see the new releases. Here in Florida, it's a little harder. The closest theater showing Bollywood is an 1.5 hours from where I am now and one hour from my "permanent" home, and it only shows one Bollywood flick at a time. Getting movies once they come out on DVD is still a little hard for me (but that's probably because I'm a poor college student and no longer have a subscription to any DVD rental services).

  3. You gonna LOVE Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The poems by Javed akhtar (recite by Imraann in the movie) are superb, so beautiful.. Oh and quotable dialogues :p

  4. Maybe I should have been clearer; I have seen ZNMD. It was one of the films I was most anticipating when I went to go see it this summer. :) I find myself making jokes (my bwoy!) from it all the time.

  7. Of the BW films, The Dirty Picture is my most anticipated. MBKD was the one I most enjoyed, but didn't have any expectations for, so I'm hopeful that my new favorite film will be some surprise.
