Madame Tussaud's, where we met Shahrukh and Amitabh

So this is really just a small random post for the heck of it, but last week Pagaal Papaya and I took advantage of another of the upsides of being in New York and visited the Bollywood exhibit at Madame Tussaud's New York wax museum. Unfortunately the wax figures of Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan are in London only, but the New York exhibit has Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.

I have to say going through several floors of wax figures and taking pictures was much cooler than I expected, and the lifelikeness of some of them was really disconcerting.

And yes, SRK and Big B are in their own separate room as a "interactive Bollywood exhibit." Papaya and I were the only non-Indians who stopped in this room, and we got SO MANY funny looks from the Indians who were waiting to take pictures. Kind of like the "What do these goris know about Indian cinema?" looks that we get sometimes when walking into Indian bazaars for DVDs (and the best thing in the world is when I started talking Shahrukh vs. Aamir with the bhai behind the counter one time and he realized "HEY maybe they do know something!").

Anyway. Pictures.

Papaya with Amitabh, who was too dark. He looks like he stole some of Jr. B's pigmentation.

Me looking like a dork with Big B.

Shahrukh likes me better than Papaya.

Souvenir photo. I like ours better.

Oh, this isn't Bollywood related, but Gandhiji was there too. :)
