I took quite some time compiling a blog post on being a white woman in Indian clothes and thinking about the question of cultural appreciation vs. cultural appreciation.

"In an globalized world where Western clothes have become the norm in many places, embracing non-Western clothes is a bit unorthodox, but some of us feel drawn to it. It’s probably one of the most “strange” manifestations of my love for other cultures.
In the eyes of many, I toe a very fine line: Am I respecting another culture or wrongfully appropriating it?
Perhaps the best thing to say in this situation is this: There is no easy answer."
